About
I was born and always been living in Sicily, an island that I love: an enormous photographic set under
the open sky.
I remember most of my childhood summers: lunches in my grandmother's seaside
house with my family, my father playing Battisti's songs with his guitar while my sisters and I
improvising eccentric dances and amusing everyone. It was beautiful. Those were happy days, and I
have memories of it all. Those memories would have been blurred if my mother hadn't
photographed everything with her Kodak (which she carried with her on every occasion!).
As I grew up, I began to understand the value of photos: I realized that photos capture not only a
moment but, above all, an emotion. Since I began to take my first steps in the world of photography,
I embarked on a journey in search of emotions: I learned to recognize them, to recognize the
moment, the expressions, in adults and newborns. My children, then, have transmitted me a
sensitivity that I didn't think I had, which I jealously guard and which has given me a new lens
through which I view everything around me and that I love to photograph.
To always be present,
but on tiptoe.
